Village of Carmacks – Community Update

We would like to share a few important updates following recent Council discussions:

Flood Preparedness
We are actively monitoring current conditions as we approach spring. While snowpack levels are near average, moisture levels are higher than usual, which may impact runoff. The Village is working closely with Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Residents are encouraged to:

• Review their emergency preparedness plans
• Check drainage systems
• Ensure 72-hour emergency kits are ready

Further updates and resources will be shared in the coming weeks.

Community Communication
Council recognizes the importance of keeping residents informed and improving communication. We are working on new ways to share updates more regularly, including:

• Community notices and updates
• Improved use of public spaces (e.g., Post Office notices)
• Exploring a Village newsletter and community engagement events
