Summer Student Public Works

Position Objectives:

The Village of Carmacks is now accepting applications for 1–2 Summer Student positions in our Public Works Department. These roles are an excellent opportunity for students seeking hands-on experience in community operations and maintenance during the summer months.

Position Details

• Term: July to August 2025
  Department: Public Works
  Location: Carmacks, Yukon

Duties and Responsibilities:

• • Lawn and garden care throughout municipal grounds

  • General maintenance tasks, both indoors and outdoors

  • Support Public Works staff in the day-to-day operations of:

    • The Landfill

    • The Wastewater Treatment Plant

    • Municipal buildings and facilities

    • Parks and public spaces

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 15 years of age or older

• Currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary education

• Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in various weather conditions

• A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
