Position Objectives:

Visitor Information Center Attendant – Part-Time (Seasonal/Temporary)

Seasonal part-time position responsible for assisting visitors and tourists, supporting tourism services, maintaining Visitor Information Center operations, and assisting with tourism initiatives from June 1 to September 10, 2026.

The Visitor Information Center Attendant supports daily visitor and tourism services by providing information to visitors, maintaining an organized and welcoming environment, assisting with tourism initiatives, and supporting municipal communication functions at the Visitor Information Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors with information about Carmacks and local attractions.
  • Provide brochures, maps, and tourism information to visitors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Visitor Information Center.
  • Record visitor statistics and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Handle cash transactions for souvenirs and other items.
  • Support tourism initiatives and special events.
  • Provide short guided walks along the boardwalk.
  • Respond professionally to visitor inquiries.
  • Report concerns or operational issues to the Visitor Information Center Coordinator.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Dependable and organized work habits.
  • Interest in tourism, local history, and community engagement.

Desirable Training and Experience:

  • No prior experience required.
  • Customer service or tourism-related experience considered an asset.
  • Experience working with the public considered beneficial.
