Councillor Doris Hansen

I was raised in south eastern Saskatchewan and first came to Carmacks in 1990, after graduating from the University of Regina with a BA in mathematics. My plan was to spend one working summer here, but like many others, I was caught in the spell of the Yukon.

My first encounter with the municipal world was as the clerk for the Village of Carmacks from 1993 – 1996. That was a great experience and I gained a real appreciation for what it takes to govern the community.

This is my fourth term on Council and I have had the pleasure of working with three different mayors and CAO’s, each with their own style and way of doing things. I have learned a lot and have a lot to learn so I am eager to get back to the table and get to work.
