"FireSmart Property Contest"

Enter in FireSmart Property Contest using the guidelines from the FireSmart Homeowners Manual, consider the following criteria:

1. Vegetation Management: Remove flammable vegetation and maintain a defensible space around structures.

2. Fire-Resistant Landscaping: Use fire-resistant plants and materials in landscaping.

3. Roof and Exterior Maintenance: Ensure roofs and exteriors are made of fire-resistant materials and are free of debris.

4. Woodpiles and Fuel Storage: Store woodpiles and fuel at least 10 meters away from structures.

5. Emergency Access: Maintain clear access for emergency vehicles.

 

These criteria focus on reducing fire hazards and increasing property safety. For detailed guidelines, refer to the FireSmart Homeowners Manual.

Residents who will implement the FireSmart initiatives on their properties will be eligible to enter a draw by sending us the pictures of their properties by August 08, 2024, to admin@carmacks.ca

Draw will be taking place on August 10, 2024, at New Fire Hall Building at 12:30pm.
