Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw Update
The Village of Carmacks (VOC) is updating the 2013 Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw in 2021. An OCP provides a general "blueprint” for how (and where) a municipality will grow and thrive over time; the Zoning Bylaw sets out the precise details.
The Carmacks OCP process is being overseen by a Steering Committee comprised of VOC elected officials and staff, Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation elected officials, and Government of Yukon staff.
A good OCP should reflect the ideas and input of the people who live in and care about a community most – that is, people like you! There are several ways to get involved in the OCP update this February:
1. Online survey (until February 21): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3GK5TQN
2. Community photo contest (deadline February 23)
3. Walkabout – 4:00 pm February 23, meet at Recreation Centre (-20C cut-off!)
4. Social media conversations – stay tuned to VOC and Carmacks Community Bulletin Board Facebook pages
